Based in New York City’s historic Chelsea neighborhood, AKEEM was founded in 2016 by hairstylist to the elite Akeem Cargile. Having worked for years in multiple high end salons, he found that there was very much a need for a space where clients of all ethnicities, curl patterns, and textures could leave not only feeling like they’ve been to the spa but look like they stepped out of a magazine.
